    JDP is looking for a full-time, contract to hire, Chicago-based (remote) Marketing Copywriter to develop content for a wide range of online and traditional marketing projects including websites, inbound/outbound email campaigns, sell sheets, white papers, case studies, video scripts, ad copy, press releases and other related content.


    The primary focus of the job is content development for JDP and related company projects - so if you don’t enjoy performing research and writing, this is not the job for you.


    This position is best suited for a candidate with experience in marketing, public relations and/or mass communications.  In addition to a solid grasp of general marketing principles and tools, excellent written communication and online research skills are essential to the success of this position.  In addition, the Marketing Copywriter must have the ability to manage projects, organize information, interview subject matter experts and deliver on deadlines.


    Portfolio samples are required for consideration.


    • The Marketing Copywriter will report directly to our Chief Marketing Officer and will work with Designers and Marketing Support team members and vendors.  The Marketing Copywriter will also work with internal and external subject matter experts to supplement online research in developing content.  At times, the Marketing Copywriter will interact with JDP clients in developing case studies and similar pieces of content.
    • The primary aim of this role is to contribute well-written content to a wide range of marketing projects.  The job may require writing across the following categories:
      • Website Content
      • Landing Pages
      • Email Campaigns (Inbound and Outbound)
      • E-Newsletters
      • Sell Sheets and Brochure
      • Information Packets
      • e-Books and Whitepapers
      • Infographics
      • Video Scripts
      • Digital and Traditional Ad Copy
      • Press Releases
      • Internal Documents (Annual Reports, Handbooks, etc.)
      • Client Communications (Welcome Packets, etc.)
      • Proofreading of copy produced by various JDP team member
    • In addition to writing, the role requires: 
      • Online research
      • Verbal and Written Communication with Subject Matter Experts (inside and outside of JDP)

        Verbal and Written Communication with JDP Clients

        Participating in Online and Traditional Marketing Meetings internally as well as wiht Clients and Partners
      • Participating in Content Strategy Meetings 
      • Managing Freelance Copywriters, as needed
      • Contributing to the Content Calendar Development 
    • As the marketing landscape is constantly shifting, this role requires continuous learning to stay up to date on marketing copywriting best practices and trends 


    • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher or equivalent experience
    • Portfolio samples required
    • 5 or more years relevant work experience 
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Handle themselves in a pleasant, personable manner (in-person, phone and email)
    • Comfortable interacting (written and verbal) with JDP team members and outside vendors/contacts
    • High degree of personal responsibility
    • Extremely responsive
    • Comfortable managing projects and hitting deadlines
    • Appreciative and assimilate constructive criticism 
    • Enjoy working as part of a team 
    • Strong ability to learn new subjects/industries and apply to content
    • Have a sense of humor
    • Comfortable working on multiple projects at once
    • Demonstrate a positive attitude 
    • Experience working in a Marketing Automation platform (SharpSpring or similar) is a plus
    • Experience in CRA industry or related field is a plus
